Biografía
Carlos Nine es un dibujante argentino que hace ilustraciones, comics, cine de animación, pinturas, esculturas y es autor de libros. Su obra ha sido publicada en la Argentina, el Brasil, México, Estados Unidos, España, Italia, Francia, Inglaterra, Bélgica, Alemania, Taiwan, Hong Kong y Macao. Ha tomado parte en varias exhibiciones y ha recibido algunos premios (Silver Clio, ilustración International Clio Awards, Nueva York, Estados Unidos, 1993, Caran D’Ache al mejor ilustrador Roma, Italia, 1995, mejor autor extranjero traducido al francés, Festival de Comics de Angouleme, 2001, Angouleme, Francia). Ha realizado exposiciones individuales en Argentina, en las ciudades de Buenos Aires, Rosario, Mar del Plata, y Córdoba. En Europa, en la galería Nuages de de Milano, Italia), Lizard (Roma, Italia), en la galería Sans Titre (Bruselas, Bélgica), y en las Ecole Superieur de L’Image de Poitiers y de Angouleme, respectivamente, ambas en Francia Sus ilustraciones para público infantil fueron seleccionadas y expuestas en los años '90, '94, '96, 2000) en la Feria de Ilustración Infantil de Bologna, Italia. Sus historietas han sido publicadas en las revistas "Fierro" ( Argentina) "L' Echo des Savannes" (Francia), "Il Grifo", "Comic Art", “Blue”, (Italia), "U-Comix" (Alemania), "Zona 84" y "Co & Co" (España), “Heavy Metal” (USA). Ha publicado, como autor: "Meurtres et Chatiments" (Albin Michel, Paris 1991), "Fantagas" (Delcourt, Paris 1995), "Keko el Mago" (Colihue, Buenos Aires 1996), “Saubon, le canard qui aimait les poules”” (Albin Michel, Paris, 2000), “Gesta Dei” (Amok, Paris, 2001), “Oh merde, le lapins!” (Les Reveurs des Rhunes, Paris, 2002). “Pampa” 1, 2, y 3. (Ed. Dargaud, Paris Francia, 2003, 2004, 2005), “Prints of the West”, (Rackham, Nuages, Sinsentido, Paris, Milano, Madrid, 2004) “Fantagas” (2da. edicion, Les Reveurs, Paris, Francia, 2006). Gran parte de estos libros fueron luego publicados en España por la editorial Sinsentido de Madrid. También ha ilustrado libros infantiles, entre ellos "Much Ado About Nothing" (Grimm Press, Taiwan, 1995), “Swan Lake” (Grimm Press, Taiwan,1999), “Match seller” (Grimm Press, Taiwan, 2006). Ha desarrollado seminarios sobre estas especialidades en su país y en Francia. Ha colaborado en diarios y revistas, entre los que cabe destacar “Sur”, “El Periodista”, “Clarín”, “La Nación”, “Noticias”, de Argentina, “Le Monde” (Francia), “La Modificación” (España), "The New Yorker" (Estados Unidos), y el periódico “The New York Times” (Estados Unidos). En el año 2001 ganó el premio al mejor libro de autor extranjero traducido al español en el Festival de Angouleme (Le Canard Qui Aimait Les Poules), y el premio al conjunto de la obra otorgado por La Escuela Superior de la Imagen de Angouleme, que posibilitó sendas exposiciones y talleres, en esa ciudad, y en la ciudad de Poitiers. En el año 2002 publicó “Oh merde, les lapins!” (les Reveurs de Runes, Francia), una fábula sobre política internacional. En el año 2003 edita la versión castellana de libro Gesta Dei, previamente publicado por Amok ( Paris, 2000), a través de la editorial El Yeite Ilustrado, de Argentina. Es una recopilación de dibujos publicados en los periódicos Le Monde, Clarin, La Nación, y otros. En abril de 2004 publicó como artista invitado un tomo de la serie “Donjon”, de Sfar y Trondheim para editorial Delcourt (Francia). Colaboró como artista invitado en el libro “It Was A Dark And Silly Night” de la colección Raw Junior dirigida por Art Spiegelman y editada por Harper Collins. Invitado de honor en el festival Paris BD, junio del 2003. Invitado de honor en el festival de Angouleme, Francia, enero del 2004, donde presentó su libro “Prints of the West”, una sártira del oeste norteamericano.
Biography
Carlos Nine works as illustrator, comics author, painter, sculpturer, animation films author and several books author. His works have been published in Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, U.S.A., Brazil, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He was awarded on several ocassions as Silver Clio on illustration (Clio Awards, New York, 1993), Caran D'Ache award as best illustrator (Rome, Italy, 1995), Prix de l'Ecole Supérieure de l'image (for his "invention graphique s' inscrivant avec fantaisie dans l' histoire du dessin et de la bande dessinée." Angoulême, France, 2001) and First Prize to the best album of foreign author translated into French at the Angoulême Festival (France, 2001) He published the following books as an author in France: "Meurtres et Chatiments" (Albin Michel, 1991) "Fantagas" (Delcourt, 1995), "Le Canard Qui Amait Les Poules" (Albin Michel, 2000), "Gesta Dei" (Amok, 2000), “Oh merde, les lapins!” (Les Reveurs, 2002), “Pampa” 1, 2, 3 (ed. Dargaud, Paris France, 2003, 2004, 2005), “Fantagas” (2nd. Edition, ed. Les Reveurs, Paris, France 2006), "Keko the Magician" (ed. Colihue, Buenos Aires, Argentina 1996). Some part of these books were published in Spain by Sinsentido publishing house. In Taiwan he published "Much Ado About Nothing" (Grimm Press, Taiwan, 1995), "Swan Lake" (Grimm Press, Taiwan, 1999 ), and “Match Seller” (Grimm Press, Taiwan, 2006). He held several exhibitions in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Rosario and Mendoza, Bariloche (Argentina), Treviso, Lucca, Rome, Milano, Lecce and Bologna (Italy), Barcelona, Madrid and Sevilla (Spain), Brussels (Belgium), Bergen (Norway), Poitiers and Angoulême (France). His illustrations for children’s books were selected by the jury to be exhibited at the Children’s Books Bologna Fair held on 1990, 1994, 1996 and 2000. He was invited to dictate seminars, workshops and courses, in his country and France. He has worked for several magazines and journals in his country and abroad, among them Le Monde (Paris), the USA magazine The New Yorker, the magazines "Noticias" and "Humor", and the newspapers "La Nación" and “Clarín” of Buenos Aires. In 2001 he received the prize to the best foreign author translated into french at the Angouleme festival (Le Canard Qui Aimait Les Poules) and the “whole trajectory prize” awarded by the Ecole Superieur de L’Image at Angouleme which organized both exhibitions and workshops at Angouleme and Poitiers respectively. In 2002 it was published “Oh merde, les lapins!” (Les Reveurs, Paris, France) a comic book based upon international politics affairs. In 2003 was published by the argentine publishing house “El Yeite Ilustrado” the spanish version of “Gesta Dei” (previously published by Amok editions, Paris, France, 2001), It’s a collected black and white designs series published by Le Monde, Clarin, and La Nacion newspapers. In 2004 was published “Donjon, creve-coeur”, a book from “Donjon” series (Sfar and Trondheim, Delcort, France) where he took part. He was invited to collaborate as a guest artist too, in a “Little Lit Book” (“It was a dark and silly night”) of the Raw Junior Collection edited by Art Spiegelman and published by Harper Collins, USA, (june 2003). Honorary guest at the Paris BD Festival (june 2003) Honorary guest at the Angouleme Festival, France, january 2004, where he introduced his book “Prints of the West” a satire of old north-american far west.
